INSPIRATIONALS QUARTET WELCOMES NEW MEMBER

The Inspirationals Quartet is pleased to announce the addition of John Rulapaugh as tenor vocalist. John joins longtime lead singer Ralph Green, baritone Ron Wills, bass Don Wills, pianist/vocalist Bobby Lee Wills, and bass guitarist Richard Tosh II to complete the current lineup.

John Rulapaugh said “I can’t tell you how excited I am to have the opportunity to sing with Ron, Don, Bobby Lee, Ralph and Richard. These guys are not just great singers but exceptional human beings and true men of God. The limited tour schedule allows me to continue to be at home a majority of the time as a husband and dad that I want and need to be - and affords me the flexibility to continue performing with The Original Dove Brothers Quartet when the opportunities arise. I could not have thought of or asked for a more perfect opportunity than this which the Lord has allowed.”

The Inspirationals Quartet was founded in 1958 and is an inductee of the Texas Gospel Music Hall of Fame. Known by fans for many years as "Bob Wills & The Inspirationals” the group makes their home in Fort Worth, Texas. Though Bob has retired from traveling, the current group is a literal “band of brothers” as Bob’s sons Ron, Don, and Bobby Lee carry on the tradition of musical excellence. Notable former group members include bass “Big” John Hall, tenor Curtis Elkins, lead Dale Shipley, bass Ray Burdett, lead Jim Wesson, bass Bob Cameron, tenor Roger McDuff, and the list goes on.

John Rulapaugh is best known for singing tenor with the award winning original Dove Brothers Quartet. He has been a member of other groups such as Charlie Waller’s Grand Ole Gospel Reunion Quartet, Palmetto State Quartet, The Blackwoods, and The Blackwood Quartet before forming the group “Freedom” and the subsequent award winning Freedom Quartet. He has been nominated a fan favorite tenor by readers of the Singing News magazine and Male Vocalist of the year by the Southern Gospel Music Association - SGMA John took a sabbatical from traveling over the past several years to focus on time with family. He returned to the stage with a reunion of The Original Dove Brothers Quartet which will continue to perform at select events and venues with John on tenor.
